Garlic Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients

  • For the Pasta:
  • 12 oz spaghetti or fettuccine 🍝
  • 2 tbsp olive oil 🫒
  • 3 tbsp butter 🧈
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced 🧄
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined 🍤
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes 🌶️ (optional)
  • 0.5 cup cherry tomatoes, halved 🍅
  • 0.5 cup white wine or seafood broth 🍷 (optional)
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream (for a creamy version) 🥛
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated 🧀
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped 🌿
  • 0.5 lemon, juiced 🍋
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 11️⃣ Cook the Pasta
  2. 2Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. 3Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water. 🍝✨
  4. 42️⃣ Sauté the Garlic & Shrimp
  5. 5In a large pan, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
  6. 6Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  7. 7Toss in the shrimp and season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  8. 8Cook until shrimp turn pink and opaque (about 2-3 minutes per side). Remove shrimp and set aside. 🍤🔥
  9. 93️⃣ Prepare the Sauce
  10. 10In the same pan, add cherry tomatoes and cook for 1-2 minutes until they soften.
  11. 11Pour in white wine or seafood broth and let it reduce by half.
  12. 12Stir in heavy cream and let simmer for 3 minutes. 🥘🍅
  13. 134️⃣ Combine Everything
  14. 14Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back into the pan.
  15. 15Sprinkle in Parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, and lemon juice.
  16. 16Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water if needed for a silky sauce. 🍋🧀
