Lomo Saltado with French Fries

Ingredients
- For the Lomo Saltado:
- 1 ½ lbs sirloin steak, cut into strips 🥩
- 1 tbsp soy sauce 🍶
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional) 🦪
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar 🍷
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil 🫒
- 0.5 red onion, sliced 🧅
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced 🌶️
- 2 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
- 1 large tomato, cut into wedges 🍅
- 0.5 tsp cumin
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp salt 🧂
- 0.25 cup fresh cilantro, chopped 🌿
- For the Fries:
- 2 large russet potatoes, cut into fries 🍟
- 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying) 🫒
- Salt to taste 🧂
- For Serving:
- 2 cups cooked white rice 🍚
Instructions
- 11️⃣ Prepare the Fries
- 2Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the potato strips until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt. 🍟✨
- 32️⃣ Cook the Steak
- 4Heat a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add 1 tbsp vegetable oil and sear the steak strips for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from pan and set aside. 🔥🥩
- 53️⃣ Sauté the Vegetables
- 6In the same pan, add another tbsp of oil. Sauté onions, bell peppers, and garlic for 2 minutes until slightly softened. Add tomato wedges and cook for another minute. 🍅🧅
- 74️⃣ Combine Everything
- 8Return the steak to the pan. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), vinegar, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Toss everything together and let it cook for another 2 minutes. 🌿🔥
