Chuletas Ahumadas with Amarrillos

Ingredients

  • For the Chuletas Ahumadas:
  • 4 smoked pork chops 🍖
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp orange juice 🍊
  • For the Amarillos (Sweet Plantains):
  • 3 ripe plantains (amarillos), sliced diagonally 🍌
  • 1 tbsp butter 🧈
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 0.25 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp honey 🍯 (optional)
  • For Garnishing:
  • Chopped fresh parsley 🌿
  • Lime wedges 🍋

Instructions

  1. 11️⃣ Prepare the Pork Chops
  2. 2Rub the chuletas ahumadas with garlic, black pepper, smoked paprika, and orange juice.
  3. 3Let them rest for 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. 42️⃣ Pan-Sear the Pork Chops
  5. 5Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  6. 6Cook the chuletas for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.
  7. 7Remove from heat and set aside.
  8. 83️⃣ Cook the Amarillos
  9. 9In the same pan, melt butter and add plantains.
  10. 10Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, then cook for 4-5 minutes per side until caramelized.
  11. 11Drizzle with honey (optional) and remove from heat.

  13. 13Plate the chuletas ahumadas with a side of sweet, caramelized amarillos.
  14. 14Garnish with fresh parsley and lime wedges for an extra zing!
