Ingredients
- For the Beef:
- 2 lbs flank steak or beef chuck roast 🥩
- 1 tbsp olive oil 🫒
- 1 tsp salt 🧂
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 0.5 tsp cumin
- 0.5 tsp smoked paprika 🌶️
- 0.5 tsp oregano 🌿
- 4 cups beef broth 🍲
- For the Sauce:
- 1 tbsp olive oil 🫒
- 0.5 onion, diced 🧅
- 0.5 red bell pepper, diced 🌶️
- 0.5 green bell pepper, diced 🌶️
- 3 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
- 1 large tomato, diced 🍅
- 2 tbsp tomato paste 🍅
- 0.5 cup tomato sauce 🍅
- 0.5 tsp cumin
- 0.5 tsp oregano 🌿
- 0.5 tsp smoked paprika 🌶️
- 0.5 cup beef broth 🍲
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 0.5 tsp salt (adjust to taste) 🧂
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- For Serving:
- White rice 🍚
- Fried plantains 🍌
- Fresh avocado slices 🥑
Instructions

- 2Season the beef with salt, pepper, cumin, smoked paprika, and oregano.
- 3Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Sear the beef on both sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- 4Add the beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat. Cover and simmer for 2-2.5 hours, until the beef is tender and shreds easily.
