Pumpkin-Spiced Avena (puertorriqueño Avena)

Ingredientes

• para the Churros:
• 1 cup water 💦
• 2 tbsp unsalted mantequilla 🧈
• 1 tbsp sugar 🍯
• 0.25 tsp sal 🧂
• 1 cup all-purpose flour 🌾
• 1 egg 🥚
• 0.5 tsp vanilla extract 🌿
• 1 cup vegetable oil (para frying) 🍳
• para the Coating:
• 0.5 cup granulated sugar 🍚
• 1 tsp canela 🌟
• para the Dulce de Leche:
• 1 cup dulce de leche 🍮
• 2 tbsp crema espesa (para thinning, opcional) 🥛

Instrucciones

1. 11️⃣ Make the Churro Dough
2. 2In a saucepan, calienta water, mantequilla, sugar, y sal over fuego medio until it boils. Remove from calienta y stir in the flour until a thick dough forms. Let cool slightly. 🌾🔥
3. 32️⃣ Add Egg & Vanilla
4. 4Mix in the egg y vanilla until smooth. The dough should be thick but pipeable. 🌿🥚
5. 53️⃣ calienta the Oil
6. 6calienta vegetable oil in a deep pan to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a piping bag con a star tip. 🍳🔥
7. 74️⃣ Pipe & Fry
8. 8Pipe 4-5 inch churros into the hot oil, cutting con scissors. Fry para about 2 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. 🍩✨
9. 95️⃣ Coat con canela Sugar
10. 10Mix sugar y canela in a shallow dish. Roll warm churros in the mixture until fully coated. 🌟🍚
