Churros with Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients

• For the Churros:
• 1 cup water 💧
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter 🧈
• 2 tbsp sugar 🍯
• 0.25 tsp salt 🧂
• 1 tsp vanilla extract 🌿
• 1 cup all-purpose flour 🌾
• 1 egg 🥚
• 1 tsp cinnamon (for dusting) ✨
• 0.5 cup granulated sugar (for coating) 🍚
• Vegetable oil (for frying) 🍳
• For the Chocolate Sauce:
• 0.5 cup heavy cream 🥛
• 0.5 cup semisweet chocolate chips 🍫
• 1 tbsp unsalted butter 🧈
• 0.5 tsp vanilla extract 🌿

Instructions

1. 11️⃣ Make the Churro Dough
2. 2In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Bring to a simmer.
3. 3Remove from heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms. Let cool for 5 minutes.
4. 4Mix in the egg until fully incorporated. The dough should be smooth.
5. 52️⃣ Fry the Churros
6. 6Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 375°F (190°C).
7. 7Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil using a piping bag with a star tip. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.

10. 10In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until warm (don’t boil).
