Sofrito-Braised Lamb Shanks with Sweet Plantain Purée

Prep: 25 minsCook: 2 hr 30 minsTotal: ~3 hrs

Story

Don Luis remembers the day he first smelled lamb shanks bubbling away in his abuela’s clay pot, the air thick with sofrito and stories. He was just a niño, his feet dangling from the kitchen stool, eyes wide as the pot lid lifted and a cloud of deliciousness rose like magic. 🌫️🍲 Now, in his rustic kitchen, Don Luis proudly recreates this Puerto Rican twist on a classic comfort dish. The secret? That purée made from sweet plantains—his grandfather’s favorite, always served with a wink and an extra scoop. “Comida que abraza el alma,” he would say—*food that hugs the soul.* 🤎 Time & Nutrition
