Chocolate Caliente (Puerto Rican Hot Chocolate)

Prep: 5 minCook: 10 minTotal: 15 min

Story

On chilly mornings in Puerto Rico, Abuela would warm the kitchen before sunrise. The smell of cinnamon, chocolate, and a whisper of cloves would drift through the air, calling everyone to the table like a magical alarm clock. Don Luis, just a boy then, remembers gripping the warm mug in his little hands, feeling like he was holding a piece of the sun. ☀️🍫 Years later, Don Luis recreated the recipe in his rustic kitchen. As the steam rose and the chocolate melted into silky richness, he smiled. “This,” he said, stirring with care, “is how you warm the soul.” Now he shares it with the next generation—thick, creamy, and full of love.
