Season 11 - Breakfast / S11B28

Chocolate Banana Chia Pudding

Prep: 5 minTotal: 4 hrs 5 min

Story

One morning, while the sun peeked through the window of Don Luis’s rustic kitchen, he remembered the times he’d sneak bananas from Abuela’s fruit basket just to mash them into his cereal. “¡Muchacho travieso!” she’d say, laughing as he made a sweet mess. Today, inspired by those playful mornings, Don Luis crafted a smooth, chocolatey chia pudding that’s both nostalgic and nutritious—perfect for breakfast or an afternoon treat. In this episode, a younger Don Luis gets a little help from his mischievous nephew who tries to eat all the bananas before the pudding is ready. But with a little teamwork (and chocolate motivation 😄), they whip up a dessert that tastes like childhood joy in every spoonful. Prep & Chill Time

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana (mashed)
  • 3 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)
  • 1½ tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: sliced bananas, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, or crushed almonds

Instructions

  1. 1Mash the Banana 🍌
  2. 2In a bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth. This adds natural sweetness and creamy texture.
  3. 3Mix It All Together 🌀
  4. 4Add the chia seeds, almond milk, cocoa powder, sweetener, and salt. Stir very well until fully combined.
  5. 5Wait & Stir Again ⏳
  6. 6Let the mix sit for 10 minutes, then stir again to prevent clumping.
  7. 7Chill Time ❄️
  8. 8Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. The chia seeds will absorb the liquid and form a pudding-like texture.
  9. 9Serve & Enjoy 🍨
  10. 10Spoon into cups or jars and top with your favorite goodies—banana slices, a drizzle of syrup, or even a sprinkle of love 💛
