Ingredientes
- 0.5 lb salted codfish (🧂🐟 bacalao), soaked y shredded
- 1 cup all-purpose flour 🍚
- 0.75 cup water 💧
- 1 tsp baking powder 🎈
- 0.5 tsp ajo en polvo 🧄
- 0.5 tsp cebolla powder 🧅
- 0.25 cup picado cilantro 🌿
- 0.25 cup picado green pepper 🫑
- 0.25 cup picado red pepper ❤️🫑
- sal y pepper to taste 🧂⚫
- Oil para frying (vegetable o canola) 🛢️
Instrucciones
- 1Prep the Codfish: Soak the salted cod overnight o para at least 6 hours, changing the water 2–3 times. Drain y shred into pequeño pieces.
- 2Mix the Batter: In a grande bowl, bate the flour, baking powder, ajo en polvo, cebolla powder, y water until smooth. No lumps!
- 3Add Flavor: Fold in shredded codfish, cilantro, green y red peppers. Season lightly con sal y pepper.
- 4calienta the Oil: In a grande frying pan, calienta oil over mediano-high calienta. It should sizzle when batter touches it.
- 5Fry the Bacalaítos: Drop spoonfuls de batter into the hot oil. Flatten slightly con a spoon para even crisping. Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- 6Drain y sirve: Transfer to paper towels to remove excess oil. sirve hot y crispy! 🔥🧡
