Season 12 - Lunch / S12L22
Sorullitos with Cilantro Garlic Sauce
Story
Don Luis remembers the sound of oil bubbling in his abuela’s kitchen—sorullitos were her secret trick for keeping the grandkids close. Crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside, these golden corn sticks were perfect for dunking into her special cilantro garlic sauce, a vibrant green that matched the island’s lush mountains. One Sunday morning, as the kids were waking up to the smell of fried goodness, Don Luis was already in the kitchen, apron on, dancing to a soft salsa beat. He’d whisper, “Con amor, todo sabe mejor,” as he folded the cheese into the cornmeal dough. This episode is all about that love and those memories, brought to life one bite at a time.
